March 7, 2019: The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, along with the UK Women Innovators Network (a program of the UK Office of Technology Commercialization) will be hosting a networking an event in Woodward Hall located in the Gatton College and Economics from 5PM - 7PM. This event will feature a panel of female entrepreneurs/founders and investors discussing some of the opportunities and challenges facing female lead ventures. The panel will be co-led by Marianne Hudson who is the current Executive Director of American Capital Association which is comprised of 14,000+ Angels and is the North American professional association for active accredited investors and Kristina Montague who is the Managing partner of The Jump Fund The Jump Fund which is focused on investing in female lead ventures.
March 8, 2019: An open coffee featuring Marianne Hudson will be held from 8:30AM - 10AM at Crank and Boom (1210 Manchester St.). This event is being co-sponsored by Lexington's SPARK and the Bluegrass Angels (BGA) investors' group. This event will also include several BGA members discussing topics of interest to both angel investors and the startup community. Click here to register; must be registered to attend.
April 24, 2019: The University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) will be hosting a half-day Summit on Wednesday April 24th from 8-12, featuring Dave Knox discussing his book “Predicting the Turn – The High Stakes Game of Business Between Startups and Blue Chips” . In addition to a time of food and networking, the Summit will include a panel of business leaders, entrepreneurs and thought leaders leading attendees in a discussion based on some of the concepts set forth in Dave’s book. This will be open to the region’s angel investors, business, entrepreneurial and UK campus communities. The Summit will be held in “recruitment room” at UK’s Kroger Field as the event venue. There will be a book signing following the event. Cost, which includes a copy of the book, as well as the registration link will be provided soon. Seating will be limited.
